ART WORKSHOPS

A Getaway Ranch will be hosting a two-day workshop with professional artist, Glenn Lyles of Plainview, on Friday and Saturday, April 4th and 5th.  Lyles has been a professional artist for many years.  His work can be found in galleries across Texas and New Mexico.  His favorite subjects include the people, livestock, and wildlife that inhabit the Texas Panhandle and High Plains.  Lyles’ work can be found on the campus at West Texas A&M; the National Cowboy Symposium in Lubbock; the Western Heritage Classic in Abilene; the Texas Tech Museum Gift Shop; and for the third year, at the West Texas A&M University Ag Development Association’s Annual Reunion.  His work may be viewed online at www.fbgartgallery.com.  Accommodations are available at A Getaway Ranch or at various motels in Fredericksburg.  For more information, tuition, and a supply list, please contact C.J. C. J. LATTA PROFESSIONAL ARTIST

C. J. Latta, your hostess, is a very accomplished artist in her own right.  She has painted professionally for over 30 years, and specializes in wildlife and sporting art.  She has painted all kinds of animals, and sells a lot a paintings through the Country Store Gallery in Austin.  A recent addition to her portfolio is painting murals.  At the encouragement of Jim, and his love of military history, she now paints very authentic “nose art” or “bomber” jackets for military history buffs, and pilots.  For more information on her jackets, see Nose Art Jacket.
